I started GO TRI in 2017 when I was introduced to the TRIBB at Bramley Swimming Baths. The evening the swim coach asked if anyone was interested in taking part in the Bramley GO TRI event, I immediately agreed even though I didn’t know what it would entail.
I took part in several training sessions to help me get ready for the event, but when the event came the nerves kicked in. There were plenty of others in the same boat and I managed to take on the course without any major problems. The event was fantastic and I made new friends through the event.
The memories of my first ever GO TRI will stay with me forever, as it was my first experience of triathlon and it has changed my whole life. Since then I have taken part in over 10 GO TRI events, making new friends along the way. I’ve improved my triathlon skills, moving up from GO TRI to the Sprint Distance at the AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds.
I’d definitely recommend GO TRI for anyone who is wanting to start their journey. It may be daunting, but it makes you become a better person.
